Abstract

The aim of the work is to design the structure of knitwear with given functional properties using 3D modeling of knitwear.

The object of the research is the knitwear for the manufacture of thermal underwear. Using the example of double-layer knitwear, the process of designing knitwear with specified functional properties is described.

A process of designing knitwear with specified functional properties was divided into the following stages: studying the requirements for knitwear being developed → building a graphic record of thread laying using knitting systems of a knitting machine → charting a knitwear structure (geometric model) → building a 3D model of a knitwear structure using a structured knitwear structure → manufacturing an experimental knitwear sample → visual analysis of an experimental knitwear pattern → charting the structure of three cottage of an experimental knitwear sample → construction of a 3D model of an experimental knitwear sample → analysis of the obtained 3D model from the point of view of achieving the set task.

Three-dimensional models of the structure of a two-layer knitwear are created and their animated presentation is made. The analysis of 3D models of the designed knitwear shows the possibilities and the ways of realizing the set specific functional properties. The results obtained can be used in the development of knitwear with given functional properties in production, in scientific research, in the educational process.
